At Digital Space, we are committed to improving and increasing our environmental and sustainability activity.
Our performance in these areas is prominent on our agenda, and we have ambitious goals to meet throughout this year. This is why we are proud to have been awarded the Bronze EcoVadis certification, putting us in the top 50 percent of all companies assessed internationally.
EcoVadis is the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating provider, working with over 85,000 companies.
They track and report our progress annually across four areas:
- Environment
- Labour & human rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable procurement
We are continuing to invest in our private Cloud infrastructure to make it more energy and carbon-efficient, using batteries to smooth the demands that we place on the grid and implementing more energy-efficient cooling systems.
These activities focus on our internal performance, but it is in our work with customers that we make the biggest difference:
- We encourage customers to move from on-premise data centres to public Cloud services that are typically 80% more energy and carbon-efficient.
- We implement SD-WAN services for customers that enable them to change their network design through software rather than by replacing expensive equipment; and
- We work with partners who re-use and recycle equipment so that nothing goes to landfill.
